FORT ST. JOHN B.C.-The Fort St. John Curling Club will be hosting a Mukluk Bonspiel on March 11th to 13th and is welcoming curlers of all skill levels to the last bonspiel of the 2021/2022 season.

The curling club says it’s very excited to re-open to the public and have residents come to the event.

“We are very much excited for the people to come in and celebrate with us after not being able to have spectators watch live curling the past three years because of COVID-19,” said Executive Director, Edeliane Penaflor.

There will be a total of 96 curlers competing during this three-day bonspiel; breaking it down, they are expecting 24 teams of four.

Penaflor says those interested in learning about curling can come out to watch the competition from the upstairs bar that overlooks the rink.

The bonspiel will feature dancing on Saturday night. Residents are welcome to just attend the dance and are not required to attend the curling event earlier in the day.

A dinner option is also available for those interested in a night of dinner and dancing.
