FORT ST. JOHN B.C. – As the upcoming 2022 season nears, the Fort St. John Soccer Club is facing a higher demand for volunteers.
The board announced earlier this week that it has decided to increase the volunteer bond requirement. The decision was made to incentivize members to be more involved in soccer activities to help cover the needs of the upcoming soccer season.
In a release, the club says that its volunteer numbers are steadily on the decline over the years, while the need for their support has increased.

This means that they’re far fewer people performing a greater share of tasks required to maintain good standing with the Alberta Soccer Association that the club is a part of.
The club says it understands that this will affect all current volunteers who dedicate the most time already year after year.
The soccer club exists based on the support of the members and volunteers, which is the club’s primary function.
They’re aiming to achieve a culture that promotes involvement in all areas of the organization, which ultimately makes the experience a more positive one for all of us and the young players.
