FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Registration is now open for this year’s Bluey Day.
The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation announced Tuesday that this year’s event will once again be going virtual on May 28th.
The organization aims to raise $10,000 for the Cancer Diagnostic & Treatment Fund used to purchase needed equipment to help with early screening diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
“We chose to go fully virtual for this year’s event, because we recognize how important it is for the participants to have their family and friends with them for the big day,” said Tanya Richardson, community giving and event coordinator.
“There are so many involved in making Bluey Day a success, not just the people shaving their heads, and last year, because of the health orders, we weren’t able to have that support present.”
Over 30 people shaved their heads for the event last year, and over $104,000 was raised through donations from over 800 residents and businesses. There were also 11 donations of hair made to Wigs for Kids BC.
Anyone looking to participate in this year’s Bluey Days can register online or call the foundation at 250-261-1731 to pick up your participants package and start collecting pledges.
