HOUSTON, B.C. – Police have released video footage of the attacks and damage done at the Coastal Gas Link worksite last Thursday, and request the public’s help identifying the people responsible.

RCMP says the footage shows several people, some armed with axes, storming the property, and attacking a company vehicle while an employee was inside the truck.

The unknown individuals swung axes at the vehicle, spray painted the window and ignited what is suspected to be a flare gun. Mounties say CGL employees were not physically harmed.

The site is awaiting an environmental analysis to be conducted due to the damaged heavy machinery. Police say access to the area remains controlled at this time to ensure the safety of analysts and investigators and to preserve evidence at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the incident or the individuals involved, contact the Houston RCMP at (250) 845-2204.
