FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Women’s Resource Society has started collecting items for its second annual auction.
The non-profit put a call out to the community through Facebook for auction items such as new products, services from businesses or anything to generate funds for the outreach store.
The inaugural event raised $9,450 last year, just shy of the society’s $10,000 goal.
The society saw a 104 per cent increase in clients accessing outreach services. In 2021, 12,013 people accessed the society’s outreach services compared to 5,873 in 2020.
The cost to run the store is around $30,000 a month.
