DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Dawson Creek Fire Department and RCMP are investigating the cause of a mobile home fire at Mile Zero Trailer Park on Saturday.
The department’s day shift responded with three firefighters, but additional resources were called in due to the heavy smoke and visible flame, according to fire chief Marcel Capelle.
For over an hour, 15 firefighters remained on the scene to fight the fire and ensure the area was safe for residents. In the evening, crews went to check on the site of the fire every couple of hours.
Capelle says the residents of the mobile home were away at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
