FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A wind warning has been issued for the B.C. Peace.
A weather system will move across northeast B.C. Wednesday afternoon. Southwest winds will make the temperature hit plus 12 as the winds increase to 60 km/h.
Wind gusts will reach 80km/h, with the occasional gust reaching 90 to 100 km/h.

Strong winds this afternoon and tonight.
Location: B.C. Peace River.
Hazard: Southwest winds 60 km/h gusting to 90.
Time Span: This afternoon to Thursday morning.
Remarks: A weather system will move across northeastern B.C. this afternoon generating strong southwest winds over the Peace River region. Southwest winds are expected to increase to 60 km/h gusting to 80 near midday today and remain strong through Thursday morning. Occasional gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible especially for tonight as a cold front sweeps through.
In addition, warm air associated with the system will bring above seasonal temperatures, with daytime high near 12 degrees Celsius today.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
