FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada says strong winds will develop in the Peace region on Wednesday.

A weather system moving across Northeast B.C. will generate strong southwest winds over the Peace River region.

Winds are expected to rise to 60 km/h, gusting to 80 km/h midday Wednesday, and remain strong through Wednesday night, according to Environment Canada.

In addition, warm air associated with the system will bring above seasonal temperatures, with a daytime high near 12 degrees on Wednesday.
