UPDATE #2: DriveBC says the closure is clear. Travel advisory remains in effect.
UPDATE: A travel advisory has been issued between the two roads due to black ice. Travel isn’t recommended unless absolutely necessary.
CHETWYND, B.C. – Highway 97 is closed in both directions due to a multi-vehicle incident in the Pine Pass.
According to drivebc.ca, the incident involves several vehicles and happened between the Powder King Road and Old Halser Road. The road is closed in both directions
Crews are on the scene and working to assess the situation. The next update is expected by 10 a.m. mountain time.
A snowfall warning for the area remains in place. The Pine Pass could receive up to 30 cm before the end of the day Friday.
