FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Farmers’ Market is on the lookout for engaged community members to join their executive board and have a wide variety of positions available for the upcoming market season.
FSJ Farmers’ Market Chair and President, Bess Legault, says that while all positions on the Board are important, the two she believes to be most integral to the Market are Market Manager and Communications/Advertising.
“The market manager is a volunteer board position that usually is a dedicated vendor who understands the community vendors and the community of consumers,” Legault explained
“They have to communicate and make sure that we have space for vendors who want to attend the market,” Legault stated.
“Its also really important to make sure that through social media, as well as broader advertising opportunities, that we make sure that communities around Fort St. John know when markets are, when the season is, and remind them throughout the week to take a little bit of time out of their Saturday and support local food producers,” Legault said.
Current openings on the board are as follows:
Board positions are on yearly terms and will be filled at the Market’s AGM, occurring in March.
