MOBERLY LAKE, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District is considering Moberly Lake Fire Hall as an alternative Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), and authorized a $25,000 grant application last week to the Union of BC Municipalities to purchase the needed equipment.

If successful, funds would come from the union’s emergency Emergency Preparedness Funding (CEPF) stream for the purchase of radios, a SmartBoard, identification vests, and bins to hold supplies at the fire hall, which could operate as a remote EOC.

Last year, the PRRD established a similar EOC at the Charlie Lake Fire Hall.
