FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Office of the Auditor General says the results of an audit on Site C’s fraud risk management will be released this spring.
BC Hydro will be assessed on whether a program has been implemented to effectively manage fraud risks at the dam site, the office said.
To determine if the program is functioning as intended, the office will also see if ongoing evaluations are being conducted.
The audit will look at the following principles of fraud risk management: control environment, fraud risk assessment, fraud control activities, fraud investigation and corrective action, and monitoring activities.
The Auditor General released an audit report in September 2021, outlining dam safety in the province and how the ministry has not effectively overseen it. Dams that are still being built, like Site C, were omitted.
