FORT ST JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John post office is now open after, again, having to close on Tuesday due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson for Canada Post said, “We were notified [Tuesday] afternoon. We followed the guidance of public health in informing employees, supporting contact tracing and conducting a sanitization of the facility.”
The facility was temporarily closed for sanitization and re-opened Wednesday morning.
This has been a standard procedure for the post office when a positive case among staff has been identified.
The facility closed its doors several times in 2021 for sanitization and generally reopened within a day.
