FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Schools in the Peace Region can now apply for grants to provide funding and training resources to allow students to engage with the food system in their community.
Applications are open for Farm to Canada grants, which provide up to $10K in funding to schools across Canada.
The grants are delivered directly to schools and use a farm-to-school approach to get more local food into schools, where it’s used in a meal service that allows students to create their own plates of food.
The goal of the grant is to bring more local food into schools and get more students engaged in:
Thirty grants are available this year, with all schools in Canada eligible to apply.
Applications must be submitted by February 18th, 2022. For more information, visit the Farm to Cafeteria website here.
