GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. – Filmmakers in the Peace Region have until January 31st to submit their short films to the 15th annual Reel Short Film Festival.

This extended deadline applies to films made in the Peace Region of Northeast BC and Northwest Alberta, and for those made anywhere in the world by filmmakers who currently reside in or have previously resided in the Peace Region.

There is no submission fee to submit films, however, films must have a running time of 2-31 minutes and have been completed by January 1, 2020, or later.

This year, the Festival takes place in person at the Grande Prairie Live Theatre from April 26th – May 1st and online in Canada from May 2nd – 8th.

The Reel Shorts Film Festival celebrates short films and the filmmakers who make them by screening gems of storytelling brilliance from around the world, across Canada, and here in the Peace Region.

The festival screens over 80 short films every year, many of them being the world, North American, Canadian, or Alberta premieres. Screening fees are paid to filmmakers for all selected films. Cash awards of $300 are paid to filmmakers whose films win a juried award.

To learn more or to submit your film, visit the Festivals website here.
