UPDATE: The travel advisories for parts of Highway 29 have ended.
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A travel advisory is still in place for the Pine Pass.
The advisory has been issued due to freezing rain, and travel is not recommended.
The advisory is also for Highway 97 from East Pine to McLeod Lake.
The area experiencing moderate to heavy rain and snow showers on top of two to 10 cm of fresh snow. An additional snowfall warning has been issued for the Pine Pass, heavy snow is expected with accumulations to reach an additional five to 10 cm.
We also have reports of whiteout conditions on Highway 97 from Fort St. John to Dawson Creek. A special weather statement remains in place for the B.C. Peace and Fort Nelson. The forecast calls for snow and blowing snow with rapidly falling temperatures throughout the day on Monday.
