POUCE COUPE, B.C. – A week after receiving their new Fire Truck, the Pouce Coupe Fire Department is already putting the tanker to good use.

Just past midnight on the morning of January 4th, the department was called to the scene of a fully involved structure fire. Firefighters say they could see flames in the sky while en route to the fire.

Upon arrival, it was noted that the fire had fully consumed the attached garage and a large portion of the home.

The department says all three occupants managed to escape the house without sustaining injuries.

Tom’s Lake Fire Department was brought in to assist the Pouce Coupe firefighters with an additional tanker.

The temperature that morning was -45 degrees, which the department says adds increased burden and hazards that affect equipment and firefighters.
