FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Veteran Comedians Lars Calleiou, Frankie Marcos, and Chris Franklin are set to grace the stage at the Lido Theatre on January 28th.
Despite increasing health restrictions, the Lido Theatre says the show is going ahead as planned, though that may be subject to change.
Calleiou says the trio has about 50 years of combined experience and he’s excited for residents of Fort St. John to experience the variety each comic brings to the show.
“One of my favourite parts of putting the tour together is that you don’t often get to work with other headliners when you’re on a tour because usually, you headline your own tour. So when I put these tours together, I pick two comedians who are really good comics, but also people whose company I enjoy,” Calleiou explained.
The three comics will be touring through Western Canada performing 12 shows in locations such as Banff, Calgary, Fort St. John, and Dawson Creek.
“I love that the audiences get to see three really strong acts. It’s nice when the show is strong from start to finish,” Calleiou remarked.
Calleiou says he tries to put the comic that’s the best fit for the show as the closing act.
The comics say they’re looking forward to being able to perform in front of live audiences again after doing virtual performances throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Hunger is the best sauce and food never tastes better than when you’re hungry. A live audience. We were so hungry for it. And now that its here, it is just so incredible. It’s just the best,” Calleiou said.
Frankie Marcos is also hoping he’ll be able to receive his passport in time to make it into Canada after his wallet was stolen.
“We’re waiting with bated breath to see if we can get him into Canada because all of his stuff has gone missing,” Calleiou said.
However, should Marcos not be able to make it into the country, Calleiou says audiences can expect to see him at the next tour in September 2022.
