CHETWYND, B.C. – BC RCMP says one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on John Hart Highway.

As the investigation is in the early stages and ongoing, little information is available at this time, according to RCMP.
John Hart Highway is still closed in both directions between Chetwynd Pulpmill Road and McClarity Subdivision.
DriveBC says the estimated time of re-opening is at 10 p.m.
At around 2 p.m., traffic was reportedly backed up and drivers were being told that the road may be closed for up to six hours. An individual stuck in traffic at the scene told Energeticcity that a tractor trailer was seen in the ditch.
