FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – School buses for any students planning to attend school this week in SD60 have been cancelled for January 4 and 5.
Schools will be open this week for children of healthcare workers, essential workers, and other vulnerable students, but now school buses have been cancelled due to the weather. The District had planned to have busses run to pick up any students attending school this week.
Last week, the Province announced that most students wouldn’t return to regular classes until January 10, 2022.
The District said that all school and District communicable disease plans would be updated, and teachers and staff would be working this week to enact the following measures:
“The objective of this phased-in plan is to ensure we are able to keep schools as much as possible from January 10 on. The stronger our safety plans in schools, the less likely we will face school closures due to staff shortages and outbreaks,” The District said in the letter last week.
