FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The odds of the Fort St. John Hospital & Birth Centre welcoming BC’s first baby of 2022 is at 50/1, according to the BC Lottery Corporation.

BC Women’s Hospital is the betting favourite at 3/1 after winning last year when Catherine Harrison delivered a seven-pound, four-ounce baby girl 21 minutes after midnight on New Year’s Day.

Surrey Memorial is close behind as a 4/1 betting favourite and last welcomed the province’s first baby of the year in 2018.

New Westminster’s Royal Columbian, which won in 2019 and 2020, and Victoria General are sitting at 8/1.

There are 23 BC hospitals to bet on through PlayNow.com until 6 a.m. (PST) on Friday.
