NANAIMO, B.C. — A man has been charged with attempted murder after a weekend stabbing in Nanaimo, B.C.
Nanaimo RCMP say they were called to a home at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday after two people in their 60s were allegedly stabbed by someone they knew.
Both victims were treated at the scene for multiple stab wounds before being taken to a nearby hospital.
Police say the suspect was located later that night and arrested without incident.
Mounties say he faces a number of charges, including attempted murder.
Const. Gary O’Brien, a spokesman for the RCMP in Nanaimo, says police believe the stabbing was an isolated event and not connected with recent gun violence in the city.
