FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Cold winds will continue in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.

An arctic air mass has settled over Northeastern B.C. Temperatures will drop to near minus 30 to 35 degrees celsius combined with light winds resulting in a wind chill that will near -40 this morning.

Conditions are expected to rise up to a moderate level by this afternoon.

Environment Canada recommends covering up as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with the wind chill.

It’s also recommended residents keep emergency supplies in their vehicles, such as extra blankets and jumper cables.
