FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP Bob Zimmer has been appointed to the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.
In a statement on Friday, Zimmer says he is honoured to have been appointed to the committee by Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole.
“As Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and Arctic Sovereignty; Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, I am looking forward to meeting with and hearing from our northern fishers so that I can be a strong voice for the North on this committee,” said Zimmer.

Zimmer was named the Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and Arctic Sovereignty; Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency in November.
Zimmer served the same role in the previous Shadow Cabinet. His counterpart on the Liberal side is Dan Vandal of Manitoba.
