FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John and the North Peace Cultural Society plan on engaging in another mediation session in the near future after holding their first this week.

“The session allowed for positive dialogue, and both parties left with a better understanding of each other,” said Chief Administrative Officer Milo MacDonald and Society Board Chair Connie Surerus in a joint statement.

“As a result, both the City and Society head into the holiday season with a renewed sense of optimism for a solution that ensures the community’s best interests.”

During the mediation, all facility user bookings and rentals will be honoured as the parties continue to work together to further arts and culture in the community.

The City and Society say to protect the confidentiality of the process, these are the only details that can be released at this point.
