FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The 18th annual Salvation Army Toy Drive officially begins this Friday.
The drive will take place at Home Hardware this Friday and Saturday, at which time both new unwrapped toys and cash will be accepted to help fill Santa’s sleigh.
All donations will stay in Fort St. John to help kids in the area this Christmas.
Home Hardware began collecting donations on November 27th. Since then, Home Hardware owner Shelley Gallagher says folks have almost filled the sleigh.
“The entire front portion of the sleigh is full and the back is starting to fill up,” Gallagher said.
The Salvation Army says toys for kids ages 10 and over are often the most challenging and less donated, but they can use donations for all ages.
They also are in need of donations for teenagers like headphones, hoodies, and throw blankets.
