FORT NELSON, B.C. – Fort Nelson’s Display of Lights is back to bring some holiday spirit to the Northern Rockies.
Like other municipalities, the event was altered to limit gathering due to public health orders.
Families taking in the display are asked to stay in their vehicles along 50th Avenue North.
“Experience a dazzling convoy of lights move through downtown Fort Nelson on 50th Avenue North from The Pub to the Northern Rockies Regional Recreation Centre,” said the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality in a release.
A COVID-19 safety plan is in place for the event, and all guests are required to stay in their vehicles or remain with family members if outside of the vehicle.
NorthEast Management’s event is taking place on December 12th, starting on Lagoon Road at 6 p.m.
Floats will be judged through a poll on Facebook, with the winners being announced on December 19th at noon.
Anyone looking to take part in the display can head to NorthEast Management’s website to register.
The City of Fort St. John announced last month that this year’s Santa Claus Parade would be a drive-thru format. The reverse parade is taking place this Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The District of Taylor is holding a similar format on December 11th at 6 p.m.
