FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the South Peace and a snowfall warning for Fort Nelson.

In the South Peace, wind gusts could reach 90 km/h starting Tuesday evening.  Winds will ease through the night.  In the North Peace wind speeds are expected to reach 60 to 80 km/h.

Closer to Fort Nelson, Environment Canada says a frontal system will bring with it 10 cm of snow.  The snow should start Tuesday afternoon and end around midnight.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Snowfall accumulation of 10 cm is expected tonight.

Location: Fort Nelson

Timespan: Tonight

Remarks: Snow is expected to being later this afternoon as a frontal system moves through the area. Snow will ease around midnight as the system passes.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
