VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health region added 31 cases on Friday, moving the active case count to 381.

There are 38 people in hospital, 14 of whom are in critical care.

There was one COVID-19 death on Friday, raising the regional total to 252.

Of the 17,390 cases since last March, 16,728 have recovered.

In the north, 237 vaccine doses were given, moving the total dose count to 404,820. Of those, 186,365 are second doses and 15,456 are other doses.

British Columbia added 341 new cases on Friday, moving the active case count to 3,035.

There are 291 people in hospital, 115 of whom are in critical care.

There were six COVID-19 deaths Friday, moving the provincial total to 2,322.

Out of 217,099 cases since last spring, 211,577 have recovered.

Across B.C., 20,835 vaccine doses were given, raising the total dose count to 8,630,478. Of those, 4,046,967 are second doses and 375,890 are other doses.

As of Friday, 91.0 per cent of eligible British Columbians over 12 have a single dose, and 87.6 per cent have both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
