FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health gave an update on the COVID-19 outbreak at Peace Villa – Meadow House in Fort St. John on Monday.

According to the health authority, no new cases have been identified after ongoing monitoring and testing.

“Sadly, one resident who had tested positive in association with this outbreak has passed away. Northern Health extends condolences to the family, friends and caregivers of this individual,” said Northern Health in a statement.

As of Monday, three residents and three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 in relation to the outbreak first declared on November 4th.

Due to no new cases being identified, Northern Health Medical Health Officers consider the outbreak to be stable.

Northern Health will continue to monitor the situation over the next weeks, and it will only declare an end to the outbreak when public health officials are confident the chain of transmission has been stopped.
