FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A group of local businesses have created an advent calendar for those ready to count down the days until Christmas while supporting the FSJ Firefighters Charitable Society.

The calendars hit Home Hardware’s shelves on Friday, with 500 available for $25 each.

SJA Promo teamed up with Home Hardware and AFDE Group to make the fundraiser possible and hopes to raise $12,000 for the firefighters society.

The Advent Calendar features a local firefighter rescuing the big man in red from a chimney. In the background, the Home Hardware store is visible along with the AFDE Group crane working on the Site C dam. Inside the 24 windows is a Belgian chocolate and a holiday fire safety tip.

The calendars were designed by Carolina Galdamez of Atonita Draws, a local graphic designer.

The FSJFCS provides financial support to local families faced with costly medical travel, supports burn survivors through the BCPFFA Burn Fund, and assists local charities in Fort St. John and surrounding areas.
