FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health announced on Thursday that the current regional public health orders covering most of the region will be extended.
According to a statement, Northern Health and public health officials are monitoring COVID-19 activity and the impacts to the healthcare system, individuals and communities.
“At this time, Northern Health Medical Health Officers have determined there remains a need for regional public health measures to limit transmission, reduce case counts, and reduce rates of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths in the North,” reads the release.

The Northern Health regional order was first implemented on October 14th, and it was set to expire on November 19th.
“Effective midnight, November 18th, the Order expiry date has been removed, and current measures will remain in effect pending further assessment of the region’s COVID-19 status.”
