FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Huskies are going to be busy with community events over the next couple of weeks with the MOvember game on Saturday and the Huskies Fill the Bus Food Drive on November 28th.

On Saturday, the team will raise funds for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation. A portion of the gate, the 50/50 and the money raised from the silent auction will go towards the cause.

During the intermission, the first Chuck a Puck event of the season will be held. Fans will toss their pucks onto the ice and try to land them close to pylons to win prizes.

“Silent auction items will be set up in the lobby. They include lawnchairs, gift cards to Steel Toes, gift cards to Butcher Block and sunglasses from Northern Vision Care,” said Huskies’ social media manager, Sabrina Trobak.

In addition to the MOvember game, the Huskies will be “filling the bus” with food donations for the Salvation Army Food Bank.

The event starts on Sunday, November 28th from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year, players will be going door to door gathering donations, and there will be drop-off stations around town.

The donation drop-off stations include the Salvation Army, Butcher Block, Save-on-Foods, and Amanda’s No Frills.

“We’re still looking for volunteers for the event. If you’re interested in helping, contact Traci at fsjhuskiesvolunteers@gmail.com.”

The NWJHL is partnering with HockeyTV sometime in December to broadcast all league games from one location.

Fans will no longer be able to watch livestreams on Facebook or Youtube, but they can sign up for an “all access pass” and use the promo code NWJHLNOV21 to get a $5 per month discount on the subscription.

The promotion ends on November 31st. Check out the Huskies’ Facebook page for more information.
