VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health region added 60 cases on Friday, moving the active case count to 645.

There are 62 people in hospital, 19 of whom are in critical care.

One COVID-19 death was reported since Wednesday, raising the regional total to 233.

Out of 16,443 cases, 15,503 have since recovered.

Another 2,100 vaccine doses were given, moving the total dose count to 394,386. Of those, 182,802 are second doses and 9,480 are other doses.

British Columbia added 473 cases on Friday, moving the active case count to 4,265.

There are 384 people in hospital, 124 of whom are in critical care.

There were 23 COVID-19 deaths since Wednesday, moving the provincial total to 2,257.

Out of 211,750 cases since last March, 204,963 have since recovered.

Across the province, 25,686 vaccine doses were given, moving the total dose count to 8,423,484. Of those, 4,013,176 are second doses and 207,105 are other doses.

Northern Health added another school to the list of COVID-19 school exposures.

Little Prairie Elementary in Chetwynd had an exposure notice for November 1st to 4th.

Health authorities will inform those who may have been exposed, actively contact tracing exposures in the school. Northern Health will post notifications after contact tracing is complete. Information will be updated on the page after notification letters have been distributed to parents.
