FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The next Fort St. John & District Chamber of Commerce Business Roundtable will take place on Wednesday, November 10th.
This virtual session will be with the Prince Rupert Port Authority, who will be giving an update on activities surrounding the Port.
The Port, also known as the Prince Rupert Gateway or the Gateway, is an integral part of the Northern BC economy and exports helping to support economic development.

The Gateway handles around $60 billion in trade per year and helps to support an estimated 3,700 in direct supply-chain jobs in Northern BC, $360 million in annual wages, and $147 million in annual government revenue.
Last year, 2020, 32.4 million tonnes of cargo moved through the Port.
Ken Veldman, Vice-President, Public Affairs & Sustainability at the Gateway, will be joining the virtual Roundtable to discuss current operations and expansion projects, give an overview of the new 2021 Port of Prince Rupert Economic Impact Study and discuss how the Gateway supports communities here in the north.
The virtual event will take place Wednesday, November 10th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the event is free, but registration is required.
