DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Dawson Creek RCMP have turned all information related to the death of a 61-year-old man over to the BC Coroners Services.

The detachment determined the death wasn’t suspicious after an investigation involving several RCMP units.

On October 17th, the detachment was asked to perform a wellness check on Dennis Maclennan at his apartment on 1124 104th Avenue.

Police found Maclennan deceased and say the cause of death wasn’t immediately apparent so a suspicious death investigation was initiated to gather all available evidence.

The investigation involved several members of the Dawson Creek RCMP, the Dawson Creek RCMP General Investigation Section, RCMP North District Forensic Identification Services, and RCMP North District Major Crimes.

All available information has been, or is in the process of being, turned over to the BC Coroners Services as the primary investigative agency.
