CHETWYND, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District is looking for feedback regarding the new Chetwynd Public Library.
A virtual open house on Zoom is scheduled for November 3rd, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where members of the project team and the library advisory committee will talk about the design, features, and funding for the new facility.
They’ll also be available to help answer questions community members may have.
Construction is likely to begin in the spring, 2022 and be completed by December 2022 at the earliest, according to the PRRD.
On October 15th, an update to the PRRD Have Your Say website noted that the new library budget is set at no more than $5 million, and up to $950,000 may come from short-term borrowing.
The Chetwynd Public Library is a main part of the community and has been providing services and programs to residents since 1959. The new library project has been ongoing since 2016.
