FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The second annual Turkey Trot was a success for everyone involved.
The combination 10-kilometre, 5-kilometre, 1-kilometre kids dash on Sunday morning was presented by the Peace Fusion Dance Society to help raise funds for its fifth season.
Event organizer Stephanie Baker says the event was well attended.
“It was a little windy, but all in all, not bad,” said Baker. “We had 76 participants, so we were very happy.”
A number of participants added some fun to the event by dressing up in Thanksgiving-themed costumes, turkey hats and fall colours.
Baker says, with all the buzz created from the second annual Turkey Trot, they’re already excited to start planning the third annual.
“We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback, and it sounds like everyone’s looking forward to next year’s event.”
