FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The second annual Turkey Trot, presented by Peace Fusion Dance Society, is shaping up to be a great event if the weather forecast holds up.
With sunny skies and balmy fall temperatures hovering around zero, the combination 10-kilometre, 5-kilometre and kids 1-kilometre dash on Sunday, October 10th is a chance to get outside and “run like a beast before you feast.”
The start/finish line is at the Centennial Park Recreation Campus.
Event organizer Stephanie Baker says they still have room for more participants to register before the online deadline of Saturday at 5 p.m.
“We are taking same-day registration as well, starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday,” said Baker.
Category awards and prizes for best costumes will be given out at noon.
The 10-kilometre run starts at 10 a.m., the 5-kilometre starts at 10:15, and the kids 1-kilometre dash starts at 11:30, and is for kids 10 and under.
The cost to participate is $40 per person and just $15 for kids 10 and under. All proceeds will support the Peace Fusion Dance Society’s Season 5.
