FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A snowfall warning has been issued for the B.C. Peace and the Pine Pass.

The warning says some areas near the Rockies could see up to 20 cm by Wednesday morning.  Most of the region will only receive about 5 to 10 cm of snow.

A frontal system moving across northern BC will give the first snow of the season to the BC Peace River region. Snow has begun in Tumbler Ridge and will spread northward this morning.

Temperatures will hover near zero through the day and snow may become mixed at times with rain. Near the Rockies, precipitation is expected to remain as snow. Total snowfall amounts will range from 5 to 10 cm for most areas with near 20 cm for the communities of Hudson Hope, Chetwynd, and Tumbler Ridge.
