FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Friendship Centre Society has been presented with another cheque from the proceeds of orange shirts.

This time around, Shell and Flint reached out to SJA Promo for orange shirts for their staff members after seeing the Home Hardware Orange Shirt Campaign. With their order, the FSJ Friendship Centre Society was presented with $800 to go towards their child and youth programming.

The Society’s service manager, Vanessa Lalonde, says the campaign proceeds will significantly impact the FSJFS’ s programs and will be used to focus on educational tools, resources, materials, and supports.

“We recognize the importance of this campaign not only in our community but globally,” says Lalonde. “Families are needing support in multiple domains of life; our services face the ongoing demand that these supports must continue to address the complex needs of our clients and community.”

Currently, the campaign has raised over $7,300 for the Friendship Centre Society. There is still another cheque presentation planned as Home Hardware has updated its supply since the last presentation of over $6,500 earlier this month.

The orange shirts, designed by local artist Alisa Froh, are available at Home Hardware in adult and youth sizes for $20.

The Society offers a variety of programs, services, community events and activities, serving a large population base – from babies to Elders.
