VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health region added 117 cases on Tuesday, moving the active case count to 929.

There are 59 people in hospital, 16 of whom are in critical care.

No deaths were recorded Tuesday, keeping the regional total at 172.

Out of 11,590 cases recorded since last spring, 10,444 have recovered.

Another 1,775 vaccine doses were given since Monday, raising the total dose count to 351,355. Of those, 162,351 are second doses.

British Columbia added 652 cases Tuesday, moving the active case count to 5,992.

Of the 316 people in hospital, 141 are in critical care.

Two COVID-19 deaths were recorded Tuesday, raising the total to 1,942.

Of the 185,432 cases recorded in B.C., 177,113 have since recovered.

Since Monday, 31,221 vaccine doses were given, raising the total dose count to 7,802,535. Of those, 3,731,819 are second doses.

Northern Health declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Inpatient Unit at the Fort St. John Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

The outbreak was first declared on August 27th, following four patients and three staff members testing positive associated with the outbreak.

According to the health authority, one of the patients passed away.

Northern Health says it will continue to monitor all laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among staff and patients at all Northern Health facilities.
