TAYLOR, B.C. – Sirens will be tested on Monday in the District of Taylor during an emergency planning exercise.

Three sirens will be tested at noon as the District helps Pembina Pipeline with its emergency drills. The Pembina exercise will begin in the morning with no definite start time.

Anyone signed up to the North East BC Emergency and Public Alert system will be notified of the test.

“The District of Taylor’s Emergency Operation Centre, will be activated, and practice in conjunction with Pembina,” says the District in a bulletin on Sunday.

“We will not be having any actual physical activity, such as citizens evacuated. The District’s ESS team will be practicing their setting up of a reception centre, but with COVID restrictions, there will be no public involvement.”

Taylor and Pembina will be conducting the training at the Younger Extraction Plant.
