DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The City of Dawson Creek has announced a number of scheduled water shut-offs between September 23rd and 30th.

According to the City, these shut-offs will be from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the scheduled day, but timing may differ depending on the conditions of the site.

Devin Aaroe, Director of Infrastructure, Public Works & Operations for the City of Dawson Creek, says these temporary shut-offs are in order to replace fire hydrants.

“Previously in the summer, we were doing water valve replacements. Now, the last water valve replacement has happened, and we’re moving to fire hydrant replacements. We had 15 water valves replaced, and we have 12 hydrants to replace in the city,” said Aaroe.

The contractor, Knappett Industries of Fort St. John, has issued advance notice to all affected properties.
