FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City has announced that upgrades to the North Peace Arena roof have been completed.

According to a post on Facebook, crews are beginning to install the ice so the arena can once again be enjoyed by participants and spectators.

Back in January, council advised city staff to apply for an infrastructure grant for the upgrades that needed to be done at the arena. In February, it was discovered that upgrades needed to be put on hold after it was discovered that there were structural repairs that needed to be done on the arena roof.

Last month, full funding was made available for the arena from federal and provincial government via an $859,000 grant from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
