FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Macro has entered a pipeline construction subcontract related to the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.

The company announced Tuesday that its subsubsidiary, Macro Projects Inc. (MPI), was hired by Kiewit TMEP Corp. to work on parts of Spread 5B along the Coquihalla-Hope corridor.

The contract, effective August 31st, will have MPI work on certain construction activities on Spread 5B for the next twelve months, according to Macro. The prime construction contract was the awarded to Kiewit Bonatti TMEP Partnership.

Macro says the initial estimated value for the contemplated scope of work on the Contract is approximately $180 million. As a result of this contract and other work being done, the company anticipates revenue to reach $350 million by December 31st.

The company is also increasing its capital expenditure program to an estimated $20 million from the previously guided $8 to $10 million in the second quarter of 2021. Macro says this is due to the expanded scope and continued work on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.
