FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health confirmed another two cases of COVID-19 associated with the outbreak in the Inpatient Unit at the Fort St. John Hospital.
The health authority declared an outbreak on August 28th. Since then, four patients and three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The Fort St. John Hospital has enhanced outbreak control measures in place to limit transmission. Those measures include increased frequency of cleaning and infection control measures, more robust symptom monitoring among staff and patients, and reduced movement of staff and patients between areas of the hospital.
Health officials will continue to monitor the situation over the next weeks. The outbreak will only be declared over when they are confident the chain of transmission has stopped.
