VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health region added 142 new cases over the weekend, including nine from Sunday to Monday. The active case count now sits at 453.

There are 13 people in hospital, nine are in critical care.

There was one death over the weekend, bringing the regional total to 161.

Out of 8,713 cases, 8,091 have recovered.

In the region, 2,498 doses were given since Friday, bringing the total dose count to 327,157. Of those, 150,916 are second doses.

The province recorded 1,853 cases over the weekend. From Friday to Saturday there were 769 cases, 581 from Saturday to Sunday, and 503 from Sunday to Monday. The active case count now sits at 5,918.

There are 176 people in hospital, 91 are in critical care.

There were seven deaths over the weekend, raising B.C.’s total to 1,814.

Out of 165,413 total cases in the province, 157,419 have recovered.

There were 44,392 vaccine doses given since Friday, moving the total dose count to 7,453,107. Of those, 3,453,733 are second doses.

There were 11 flights involving Fort St. John with COVID-19 exposures in the month of August.

On August 3rd, WestJet Flight 3203 from Fort St. John to Vancouver, rows 14-19 were affected.

On August 10th, WestJet Flight 3308 from Fort St. John to Calgary, rows 16-20 were affected.

On August 11th, Air Canada/Jazz Flight 8184 from Fort St. John to Vancouver, rows 9-19 were affected.

On August 12th, Air Canada/Jazz Flight 8182 from Fort St. John to Vancouver, rows 17-20 were affected.

On August 16th, Air Canada/Jazz Flight 2262 from Vancouver to Fort St. John, rows 14-20 were affected.

On August 19th, Air Canada/Jazz Flight 8187 from Vancouver to Fort St. John, rows 3-9 were affected.

Lastly, on August 21st, Air Canada/Jazz Flight 8184 from Fort St. John to Vancouver, rows 16-22 were affected.
