VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 38 new cases Friday, moving the active case count to 254.

There are seven people in hospital, five of whom are in critical care.

There were no deaths on Friday, keeping the regional total at 160.

Of the 8,264 cases recorded since last March, 7,845 have recovered.

There were 1,295 vaccine doses given since Thursday, bringing the total number of doses given to 317,197. Of those, 145,326 are second doses.

B.C. added 663 cases on Friday, moving the provincial active case count to 6,345.

There are 129 people in hospital, 59 of whom are in critical care.

There was one COVID-19 death Friday, moving the provincial total to 1,785.

Out of 158,919 cases since last spring, 150,657 have recovered.

There were 15,261 vaccine doses given since Thursday, bringing the provincial total dose count to 7,296,096. Of those, 3,444,125 are second doses.

Dr. Bonnie Henry announced on Friday that the Interior Health zone will be under the following restrictions, starting at midnight:
