FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Mark your calendars, the annual Rotary Drive-Thru Breakfast is back for its fifth year on September 9th.

The breakfast event helps to raise funds for local seniors programs and projects.

Like previous years, the Rotary Club of Fort St. John will be serving up hot, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, a side of fruit, granola, and a hot coffee for a minimum donation of $10.

This year the club is looking to serve 1,500 people.

“Living through the COVID-19 pandemic, our seniors continue to need our support more than ever,” says Vince van Wieringen, club president.

“From building new housing to providing programs that keep them connected with their families, neighbours, and community, the Rotary Club of Fort St. John is excited to raise critical funds that will enhance the quality of life for seniors in our city today, and for generations to come.”

The club has raised over $63,000 through the Drive-Thru Breakfast since 2017. Funds have helped build the Rotary Spray Park, fund school breakfast programs, and sustain youth initiatives within the city.

Businesses and residents can pre-order breakfasts now and have them delivered—with a minimum order of 10— or ready for pick up on September 9th.

Those looking to place an order can call Rotarian Patricia Budgell at 403-793-0485 or complete this form and email patricia.chariot.sales@gmail.com by Wednesday, September 8th.

The drive-thru breakfast will take place in the Safeway parking lot from 7 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 9th.

Last year the event sold around 1,450 breakfasts and raised just under $19,000.
